Tuesday night was spent at the prestigious Douglas Corner Cafe in Nashville, where we played at their singer/songwriter night which is every Tuesday. We were on the stage with two other acts, The Garnets and Jim Davidson. Each act gets two songs. Thanks to both acts for sharing the stage with us. Was great to have Mum and George in the audience, who did the 4.5 hour drive to see us. Love you two very much. Also had Hannah Fink and our man Chase in the crowd. Thank you both of you. Hannah, you are just beautiful and friends forever 😎 Thanks to Donnie Winters for hosting and making us sound great. You are a legend Donnie!
Lastly our true mate Lee Hines for accompanying us on our songs. What a pleasure to share the stage with such a professional and prolific percussionist. Thank you Lee for reaching out and making the effort.
Enjoy people! And put a visit to Nashville on your bucket list
First night in Memphis was spent at the legendary dive bar Earnestine and Hazel's, where we performed at their open mic night hosted by the fantastic Amber Dunn. Amber has a beautiful voice and her family were present as well and made us feel so welcome. Thank you Amber! Again, we met some fantastic musicians, and Under Groove went down well in Memphis.
Check this place out online. Great history. http://earnestineandhazelsjukejoint.com/about/the-bar -Under Groove in Memphis!!!
Murray and I did and acoustic version of "Night Rider" at Avant Garden in Houston Texas. The host for the evening, Lucky, who introduced us thought the "NZ" on the sign up sheet said N2, which lead to a rather comedic introduction. Murray & I would like to give a shout out to Chase, bar tender and host with the most, for making us feel so welcome.
Last Night we played at the Commodore Grill in Nashville. They had a really full bill and we were only allowed time for one song and were up at 10h30. So we socked it to them, paid our dues and on now we are firmly on the people's radar in Nashville. We had the opportunity to meet and talk with a few of the other musicians afterwards and shared a few laughs and left them with on information on our EP. Looking forward to Douglas Corner Cafe on Tuesday night - another premier venue for us to spread the UG love.
Had a great night at The Warehouse, Tallahassee, Florida at their open mic night. Muzz and I gave them 4 songs and it went down real well. We made some new friends and Tallahassee now knows about Under Groove.
Next stop Birmingham, Alabama!
What a highlight! Just visited the Dean guitar factory in Tampa, Florida. Had a personal tour and everyone was just awesome, very friendly and were keen to follow the UG train. Click the title to see us with Dimebag Darrell - RIP brother!
Hello UG fans and Happy New Year!!
If you are a friend of Under Groove and belong to our FB page then you may be confused (or not) as to what is happening in the UG camp. I am currently visiting with family in the USA, and will be away until May. Murray Soffe (guitar) has come for a 5 week visit. We are going to hit as many open mic nights as we can and hum and strum Under Groove tunes across the South East of the U.S. You may have seen the pictures of the van (named her Ruby).
We are also promoting our debut EP release "Fragile Times"
Gaz Van Rensburg (guitar) and Brian "Animal" Collins (drums) are keeping the home fires burning. Thank you fellas, and so looking forward to writing and jamming again. And keeping up tradition. 😜
I just wanted to let you all know' so confusion does not rain supreme. We will continue to post pictures and comments, tracking our journey. In the meantime don't forget you can purchase "Fragile Times" by Under Groove at iTunes, on Amazon, and at our website.
Thank you people and stay safe!
